How the author describes it
Plan and evaluate mesh generation for numerical simulations — estimate grid resolution from physics scales (interface width, boundary layers, wavelengths), check aspect ratios and skewness against quality thresholds, choose between structured, unstructured, and adaptive mesh refinement strategies, and compute grid sizing for 1D/2D/3D domains. Use when setting up a new mesh, diagnosing poor solver convergence caused by mesh quality, deciding how many points to place across a phase-field interface or boundary layer, or preparing a mesh convergence study, even if the user only asks "what resolution do I need" or "why is my solver failing."

- Recent maintenance: 3 of 9 points. 9 for a repository commit within 30 days of the snapshot; 6 within 90; 3 within 180; 1 within 365.
- Boundary clause: 0 of 4 points. 4 when the description says when not to use the skill (“Not for …”, “Do not use …”, “Use … instead”).
- Description length: 3 of 5 points. 5 for 150–600 characters; 3 for 100–900; 1 for 50–1,024.

mesh-generation passes the required frontmatter check and all seven graded checks, which cover the SKILL.md format, a declared license and a commit in the last year. Those checks earn 56 of the score’s points; the rest come from description quality, instruction depth, bundled files, maintenance and curated-list citations. How the score works.
