Suede Slop Stop

Five dimensions, fifty points, and anything under thirty-five goes back for another pass. It strips the patterns that read as generated, the throat-clearing, the false agency, the contrast that announces an insight instead of delivering it, without flattening the author's voice, and it never treats a pattern as proof of who wrote the text. Facts, quotes, code, and deliberate phrasing are protected. A findings-only audit is a mode.

The eight rules

Every pass runs the same eight rules, then a 16-item pre-ship checklist. The high-frequency offenders live in the skill body; the full sweep, forty-plus more phrases and every structure variant, ships in the bundled references/kill-list.md.

Cut filler phrases	Throat-clearing openers, emphasis crutches, business jargon, and adverbs that add no meaning
Break formulaic structures	Binary contrasts, negative listing, dramatic fragments, rhetorical setups, false agency
Name the actor when it matters	Passive constructions that hide responsibility; useful technical passive voice stays
Be specific	Vague declaratives and lazy extremes: every, always, never, everyone, nobody
Match the genre	Use direct address where it helps; preserve academic, legal, technical, and documentary register
Vary rhythm	Metronomic sentence lengths, automatic triads, and repetitive punchy endings; punctuation follows house style
Trust the reader	Softening, justification, hand-holding
Cut quotables	Sentences written to be screenshotted

The score gate

After the pass, the text gets scored 1-10 on five dimensions. Below 35 of 50 the verdict is REVISE, with a named reason for what still generates the score.

What it covers

A merged kill list treated as contextual signals rather than token bans: throat-clearing openers, jargon, low-information adverbs, meta-commentary, performative sincerity, and vague declaratives.
Every binary-contrast spelling, negative listing, reveal fragments, formulaic templates, permission grants, and lecturer-voice tells, each with its fix.
A 16-item pre-ship checklist and a counted report for cleaning passes, plus a findings-only mode that quotes issues without rewriting.
Style edits only. Facts, numbers, dates, names, claims, qualifiers, quotes, code, commands, links, citations, and paths stay unchanged; missing support is flagged separately.
Minimum effective edits preserve deliberate fragments, humor, technical vocabulary, useful passive voice, and the active house style.
Returns cleaned prose in the response; the author decides where it lands. It never publishes, posts, or overwrites the original.

When to use it

Copy, a README, an email, a social post, or a doc is about to ship.
After a long AI-assisted writing session.
The text sounds fine but feels generated.
Before anything goes to press, investors, or customers.
NOT for writing new copy from scratch. Use suede-copy.
NOT for verifying facts or claims. Factual wording needs primary evidence before publication.

Use $suede-deslop on [paste text]. If I ask for findings only, quote and explain the issues without rewriting. Otherwise make the minimum effective style edits, preserve facts, exact spans, voice, and house style, invent nothing, and return the cleaned prose with the Slop Stop report and 50-point score.
